Check out music artist Ben Sollee on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series. I remember playing in orchestra with this guy, who is now getting to be a pretty famous name! (and maybe went to college with the percussionist?) I think of Ben as mostly a solo artist who works with a violinist and percussionist too. He has also worked with other famous artist like Daniel Martin Moore and Jim James (of My Morning Jacket). His sound is eclectic, when you think about the classical instrument of the cello transformed into a jam instrument. Somehow, it works, especially with Ben’s funky beats and swirling rhythmic patterns. He has a new released album, ‘Inclusions’.
